2045 Initiative

Written By Michael Reign on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 | 10:07 PM

Founded by media mogul Dmitry Itskov in February of 2011, the 2045 Initiative exists as a socio-political exemplar present within the Russian intelligence community. In accordance with information presented on the 2045.com domain registry, the following descriptions can be applied to the enactment of such directives:

“The main objectives of the Initiative are: the creation of a new vision of human development that meets global challenges humanity faces today, realization of the possibility of a radical extension of human life by means of cybernetic technology, as well as the formation of a new culture associated with these technologies.”

Through the harnessing of nanotechnology, advances in the field of robotics, biomechanical integration, and cranial-computer interface; scientists affiliated with the 2045 Initiative sought the creation of holographic simulacrums replete with an artificial intelligence construct possessing the capability of thought transference on a subconscious level. What follows is a theoretical sequence of events relevant to the implementation of such protocols:

2013-2014: New technology centers devoted to the development of radical life extension arise, heralding an impetus toward a vision of immortality through the process of cybernetic assimilation.

2015-2020: The genesis of the world’s first Avatar — An artificial human construct manipulated through cognitive function via cranial-computer interface. It’s burgeoning popularity eventually surpassing that of the automobile.

2020: Initially sequestered exclusively within various segments of the Russian intelligence community, numerous preliminary experiments governing the integration of transorganic constructs into the prevailing socio-economic dynamic attain realization. Android/ cybernetic personages effectively replace their human counterparts in the service industry. Thought-controlled Avatars enable large-scale corporate interest organizations the capability of a sustained virtual telepresence, thereby eliminating the necessity of air travel to various geopolitical business engagements. The first prototype for vehicles possessing flight capability is created, paving the way for thought driven mobile communication.

2020-2025: The generation of an autonomous neurological system, independent of the human anatomical construct, that is capable of providing life support to the brain attains precedence. With the advent of such technologies, cranial transplant procedures through the incorporation of Avatars proceed unabated.

2020-2025: The generation of an autonomous neurological system, independent of the human anatomical construct, that is capable of providing life support to the brain attains precedence. With the advent of such technologies, cranial transplant procedures through the incorporation of Avatars proceed unabated.

2025: The creation of a more advanced Avatar capable of sensory transference to one’s operator is realized.

2030-2035: Re-Brain — A scientific endeavor allowing for the reverse engineering of the brain, and more specifically its neural network, attains precedence. Through the implementation of such directives the world’s scientific community acquires a greater degree of understanding relevant to the principles of consciousness.

2035: The first successful attempt in cognitive transference into an alternative carrier is realized, thus heralding the onset of an era of cybernetic immortality.

2040-2050: Artificial constructs composed entirely of nanobots capable of assuming shape arise alongside holographic simulacrums.

2050: Drastic alterations to the prevailing social structure, technological base, and scientific development achieve dominion. The dawning of a new era of civilization begins in earnest: neohumanity.

The following cinematic reference further expands on this point of contention, alluding to the implementation of such directives on a global scale:

Technological Imperative | The Elitist Rationale For Global Imperium

Written By Michael Reign on Friday, March 27, 2015 | 8:54 PM

Characterized as an aspect of technological determinism and autonomy – mirroring precepts governing the inevitability thesis – its actualization emphasizing the irreversibility of progress in the development and manufacture of advanced systems of technology.

Figure 1. Hasan Özbekhan, noted author and scientist of Turkish descent who, in collaboration with Alexander Christakis - a physicist and research systems designer, Erich Jantsch, and Italian Industrialist Aurelio Peccei (Peccei is best known as the founder and first president of the Club of Rome, a global planning agency and elitist enclave that actively promotes eugenicist policy and population reduction as standard prerequisites in the realization of environmental sustainability) served as a co-founder and director of the Club of Rome. Özbekhan authored the original prospectus for this clandestine assembly, entitled ‘The Predicament of Mankind' - a thematic synopsis whose written content was later expanded on by Alexander Christakis in cooperation with the Institute For 21st Century Agoras, the context of which lead to the science of structured dialogic design. The academic luminary is the noted author of the following publication: Toward a General Theory of Planning, a 128-page dissertation incorporating environment as an experiential milieu of humanity, the prevailing societal construct/ hierarchal order as a function of causality, and the prospect of ecological balance as a fundamental component of the evolutionary standard. In his later years Özbekhan was also a recognized member of Mankind 2000, a global think tank promoting the establishment of the international futures research movement, and a renewed focus on the premise of psychosocial development.

Figure 2. Mankind 2000’s corporate logotype, yet another Elitist ensemble incorporating the use of ‘666’ as its principal theme of conveyance.

Hasan Özbekhan, a Turkish American systems scientist, cyberneticist, philosopher and planner who was the Professor Emeritus of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, stated the following as it pertains to the necessity of innovation as a function of societal development:

“The doctrine of the technological imperative is that because a particular technology means that we can do something (it is technically possible) then this action either ought to (as a moral imperative), must (as an operational requirement) or inevitably will (in time) be taken.”

Arnold Pacey, noted and distinguished author of several MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Press publications (Meaning in Technology, The Maze of Ingenuity | Ideas and Idealism in the Development of Technology, The Culture of Technology, and Technology in World Civilization | A Thousand-Year History), offered the following assessment as it pertains to the concept of technological determinism:

“It is the irresistible lure of always pushing toward the greatest feat of technical performance or complexity which is currently available.”

John von Neumann (December 28, 1903 – February 8, 1957), a Hungarian and later American pure and applied
mathematician, physicist, inventor, polymath, and
polyglot, responsible for pioneering the conceptualization and design implementation of explosive lens catalysts needed to compress the plutonium  core of the
Trinity Test and the "Fat Man" weapon used in the atomic devastation of the Japanese city of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, came to the following conclusion regarding the subject of technological progressivism:

“Technological possibilities are irresistible to man.” (Excerpt taken from page 186 of Lewis Mumford’s September 29th, 1971 publication ‘The Myth of the Machine: Technics and Human Development')

Jacques Soustelle (February 3, 1912 – August 6, 1990) made the following proclamation regarding the development and eventual use of atomic weapons:

“Since it was possible, it was necessary.”
(Excerpt taken from page 99 of Jacques Ellul’s October 12, 1967 publication ‘The Technological Society')

Figure 3. William Kristol, American neoconservative political analyst/ media consultant and principal founder and editor of the Weekly Standard - best known for his role in the establishment of the Project for the New American Century, what eventually became a collaborative venture with Robert Kagan - shares Soustelle’s philosophy on the development and manufacture of advanced weapons systems. Kristol’s disappointment at the thought of not having the opportunity to use nuclear weapons technologies is noted in the above statement.

Fatalists and antihumanists, sensing the imminence of global annihilation, embraced the following axiom:

“Since we can now destroy the planet, in time we will.”

The technological imperative exists as the unacknowledged assumption of commentators, media moguls, and business magnates lauding the benefits of innovation who cite the inevitability of the ‘information technology revolution’ as evolutionary milestone in the advancement of humanity. The aforementioned topic of discussion implies a suspension of ethical judgment or social constraint: individuals and society are seen as serving the requirements of a technological system which shapes their purposes. Ellul argued that technology becomes an end in itself rather than a means to an end, a phenomenon dubbed ‘teknosis’ by John Biram (Biram is the accredited author of ‘Teknosis: The Death of the World') also refers to those accepting this as ‘teknotic’ – Excerpt taken from Michael Shallis’ ‘The Silicon Idol: The Micro Revolution and Its Social Implications, who warned of the ‘silicon idol’ that, were it to become the object of veneration that he predicted it might, would divest society of its humanity and its soul - Shallis is quoted as having stated the following with regard to the emergence of newer technologies and its effect on civilization:

"A computer-based society becomes a fragile society, easily disrupted, held in the grip of a small technical elite who would have enormous potential power.”

Shallis also had the foresight to pair this philosophy of technological innovation with the emergence of a vast surveillance network, a fact alluded to in the following statement where he cautioned against the development of advanced systems of computation for fear that it would lead to a consolidation of undue power and influence in the hands of questionable parties:

“Spreading the computer network into every house, just as television has spread, appears to be bringing the power of computer and information systems to every corner of society. What it in fact does is to tighten the grip of a few on the many.”

Abbe Mowshowitz, Professor of Computer Science at the City College of New York and an accredited member of the Doctoral Faculty in Computer Science at the City University of New York, made the following statement regarding the notion of technology’s perceived indispensability and its cumulative effect on society:

“To assert that technology has become an autonomous agent of change is not to attribute an occult quality to the growth of modern society which transcends human choice. It simply means that mechanization has affected social organization and individual behaviour in such a way as to create a foundation for further development along certain lines. We have cultivated a special relationship to technology wherein needs and conflicts are almost invariably formulated as technical problems requiring technical solutions.” [what are usually called 'technical fixes'] (Excerpt taken from pages 256 and 257 of Abbe Mowshowitz’s ‘The Conquest of Will: Information Processing in Human Affairs’ - Addison-Wesley Publishing, 1976)

Major critics of the pursuit of the technological imperative have been Jacques Ellul and Ivan Illich. Michael Shallis, quoted in earlier stanzas of this particular article, notes that:

“The Chinese discovered gunpowder but chose not to develop the gun. We in the West generally accept the notion of the technological imperative which, like natural selection and evolution, inevitably leads where it will and precludes purposeful change, directed progress.”

“The imperative implies that the invention of a new technique demands its adoption and development, and although there are countless examples of 'useless' inventions that no one wants and which are not developed but fade away, the general tendency has been to pursue possible developments for their own sake. The technological imperative concerns that self-motivated pursuit and implies that it is somehow inevitable... Technology is promoted... as if the idea of the imperative was true."

Technological or Media Determinism | The 'Technological Imperative' by Daniel Chandler

CONCLUSION: The Technological Imperative serves as the unspoken rationale of the scientific community, who by and large, endorse precepts of innovative design and systems advancement as an essential component of the evolutionary cycle with little to no thought of their consequence on future generations.

“As the pursuit of profit becomes absolute; human interaction, individuality, even base instinctual articles of preservation, perish beneath the weight of an Elitist contrived obsolescence.”

Transhumanism

Written By Michael Reign on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 | 8:00 PM

Transhumanism is an internationalist endeavor advocating the use of technology as a means of accelerating the development of a biosynthetic evolutionary dynamic as an aspect of posthuman interventionism. The transhumanist philosophy is largely based on the exaltation of the Darwinian construct through the engineered obsolescence of the human condition, whereby the emergence of technologies designed to overcome physiological limitations associated with the aging process effectively supplant the current standard of medicine. Contemporary interpretations espousing the actualization of transhumanist doctrine were foreshadowed by one of its initial proponents, professor of Futurology Fereidoun M. Esfandiary, an individual later known simply as FM-2030. Esfandiary applied teachings emphasizing “new concepts of the Human” at The New School in the 1960s, when he began to associate individuals adopting technologies, lifestyles, and worldviews transitional to “posthumanity” as “transhuman”. This hypothetical contrivance establishing the intellectual framework of this particular movement’s impetus, predominantly through the machinations of British philosopher Max More, who, in 1990, articulated principles endemic to the foundation of transhumanist ideology as a key component of the futurist exemplar - effecting the organization of a California-based intelligentsia charged with the development of the World Transhumanist Association, a transnational collective now known as Humanity+.

The Emergence of the Transhumanist Construct in a Contemporary Setting

The first acknowledged congregation devoted to the examination of technological innovation as an extension of the biosynthetic evolutionary process convened in the early vestiges of the 1980s at the University of California in Los Angeles - the eventual nexus of the transhumanist philosophy. It was within these halls of academia that FM-2030 lectured on the benefits of the so called “Third Way” futurist diametric. In 1986, K. Eric Drexler (Kim Eric Drexler) published Engines of Creation: The Coming Era of Nanotechnology, examining the precepts of molecular nanotechnology as a by product of nanotechnological integration through the incorporation of molecular assemblers at the anatomical level. Drexler is widely acknowledged as the principal founder of the Foresight Institute, one of many organizations within the scientific community charged with the propagation of the transhumanist ideology. The others being the Alcor Life Extension Foundation, the American Cryonics Society, the Applied Foresight Network (AFN), the Cryonics Institute (CI), Humanity+, KrioRus, LongeCity, the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI), and the Mormon Transhumanist Association (MTA). Located in Southern California, the Alcor Life Extension Foundation is recognized as the first non-profit organization to research, advocate for, and perform cryonics as a means of immortalization. In 1990, More authored his own variation to preexistent transhumanist dogma through its integration of extropianist methodology via the Principles of Extropy, effectively deconstructing the acknowledged foundation of the movement through the application of the following maxim:

Transhumanism is a class of philosophies that seek to guide us towards a posthuman condition. Transhumanism shares many elements of humanism, including a respect for reason and science, a commitment to progress, and a valuing of human (or transhuman) existence in this life. Transhumanism differs from humanism in recognizing and anticipating the radical alterations in the nature and possibilities of our lives resulting from various sciences and technologies.

Tianhe-2 Supercomputer

Written By Michael Reign on Monday, January 27, 2014 | 8:37 PM

Possessing more than 3 million core processors, China’s Tianhe-2 is recognized as the world’s most prolific supercomputer in terms of capability. In terms of performance its level of proficiency is unrivaled, as evidenced by the system’s ability to execute more than 30 quadrillion calculations per second. The Titan Supercomputer at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, possessing the capability of executing 17.59 quadrillion calculations per second, is now widely regarded as the world’s second most powerful computing system of its kind. It is believed that the Tianhe-2 Supercomputer exists as the technological precursor to Exascale systems — machines 30 times more powerful than China’s latest achievement.

Synchronic Society

Written By Michael Reign on Thursday, August 1, 2013 | 9:01 PM

A futurist exemplar predicated on the development and manufacture of artificial intelligence on an environmental scale, thereby facilitating the genesis of a more conclusive systemic relationship of interconnections and interdependencies between humans, inanimate objects/ machines, and geographical region. It exists as the technological coalescence of civilization through a process of physical/ anatomical-digital fusion/ integration. The advent of a synchronic societal dynamic constitutes the emergence of a digital matrix incorporating the augmented self as well as the transhumanistic catalyzed masses into cybernetically-rendered identities.

VeriChip

Written By Michael Reign on Friday, September 21, 2012 | 5:17 PM

VeriChip is the first Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved human-implantable radio-frequency identification (RFID) microchip. It is a device marketed by VeriChip Corporation (Since re-branded as the PositiveID Corporation via corporate merger), a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions (Digital Angel, Inc. develops global positioning satellite [GPS] and radio-frequency identification [RFID] technology products for consumer, commercial, and government sectors worldwide. Its principal location in Delray Beach, Florida, their products include RFID applications, end-to-end food safety systems, GPS/Satellite communications and telecommunications technology, security infrastructure and the VeriChip human implant), and it received United States FDA approval in 2004. Approximately twice the length of a grain of rice, the device is typically implanted above the triceps area of an individual’s right arm. Once scanned at the proper frequency, the VeriChip responds with a unique 16 digit numerical signature which is then linked with information referent to the user. Such abstracts are then digitally encrypted on a computer database for purposes relevant to identity verification, medical records access, individual credit information, financial status and holdings, etc.

The aforementioned paragraph briefly elaborates on the history and nature of such a device; detailing its purpose relevant to the aspect of a federally legislated surveillance system initiated shortly after the occurrence of events surrounding 9.11.2001. Since the initial phases of its production VeriChip itself has undergone numerous modifications pursuant to its principal issuance. In 2007 the VeriChip Corporation, originally recognized as a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, created Xmark as a means to establish a corporate identity relevant to the dispensation of healthcare related products and services. In accordance with the legislative protocol affiliated with such corporate holdings as those which have attained precedence in Xmark, the VeriChip Corporation has since modified its principal design through the machinations of its technological development branch to include a federally based "emergency preparedness" legislative mandate pursuant to the incidences of viral/ biological pandemic (The H1N1 Swine Flu Virus, the H5N1 Avian Flu, and other pathogenic agents deemed as being bio-threats). VeriChip, through Receptors LLC (A company based in Minnesota), has recently begun the development of virus detection technology in accordance with federally-based legislative sanctions.

Synthetic Telepathy

Alternatively known under the colloquialization, Artificial Telepathy; the aforementioned cognomen exists as a facilitator for the implementation of a government subsidized-electronically induced thought transferal system. Through technological advancements commensurate to the surgical implantation of micro circuitry within the cerebral cortex of numerous subjects in a controlled experimental setting, the existence of such contrivances function as intellectual/ sensory amplifiers. The advent of such an invention would purportedly serve the following purposes:

1) The integration of micro circuitry within the neural pathways comprising the cerebral cortex can, in turn, engender a significant enhancement of sensory perception in the dynamic range - thus, such individuals would be capable of visually ascertaining Infrared, Ultraviolet, and chemical spectra.

2) A significant increase in intellectual capacity relevant to processes of recall, cognitive recognition, and memory.

3) Cybernetic processes relevant to the incidence of thought communication attain precedence, enabling a marked increase in government subsidized surveillance capabilities in the form of a globalized threat assessment apparatus (The initial stages marking the gestation of these advancements have attained precedence in the form of a Department of Homeland Security sponsored objective known under the F.A.S.T. acronymic nomenclature. An acronym whose literal interpretation is recognized under the Future Attribute Screening Technology designation).

Such a device will serve as a prosthetic cerebral implant within the visual cortex of subjects. These individuals, in turn, would receive neural stimulation via computer based image relay through an artificially induced “window” generated interface.

Technological Singularity

A hypothetical event attaining precedence as a direct result of the evolution of a superintelligence through technological innovation. Proponents of evolutionary theory as the basis for civilization’s adaptational process seek to utilize these ideological concepts to further their aspirations for immortality, primarily through the transhumanist philosophy. The following presentation illustrating the genesis of this type of dynamic:

Superintelligence

Termed under the hyperintelligence, or superhuman intelligence scientific cognomen, such a designation refers to the existence of a hypothetical entity possessing an inherent intellectual capacity surpassing that of present day civilization. Oftentimes, the possibility of its manifestation within the prevailing socio-physiological archetype is contingent on the evolution of an artificially based intelligence via cybernetic manipulation and biomechanized integrative processes. Exponential increases in natural intelligence through genetic engineering/ molecular alteration, transhumanistic promulgation whereby physiological aspects relative to the instance of consciousness through brain function are integrated into a cybernetically enhanced cerebral interface, nanotechnological advancement through bio-molecular integrative processes relative to the field of biomechanics, etc. exhibit a high degree of commonality with the emergence of superintelligence.

Collective Intelligence

Collective Intelligence exists as a corporeal manifestation of intellectual capability within a group-based or coordinated dynamic. Oftentimes collective intelligence attains a measure of precedence on a global scale, in the sense, that aspects relevant to its existentiality within the prevailing socio-physiological paradigm are exhibited in a communal setting where consensus through perceived majority is recognized as the dominant factor.

Cloud Technology

Cloud Technology exists as a terminological appellation synonymous with cloud-based computative processes that act as agents of emphasis on the evolutionary development of Internet-based communication. Technological innovations ascribed to such advancements are recognized as a relatively recent corporate exemplar relative to the field of ciphering mechanics. In accordance with written assessments provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) (Purportedly established to act as a representative constituency for the express purpose of engendering scientific efficiency and facilitate precision in the form of technological innovation, the National Institute of Standards and Technology has actively engaged in the falsification of information, the prefabrication of evidence, the deliberate omission of pertinent facts and written documentation pursuant to September 11th, 2001 and the events precipitating its occurrence, most specifically in instances preceding the controlled demolition of World Trade Center Building 7 through the utilization of nano-thermite incendiary devices), “cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g. [Latin equivalency recognized as exempli gratia, the standard accepted abbreviation relative to the phrase: “for example”], networks, servers, storage, applications and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimum management effort or service provider interaction.” Futurist endeavors employing cloud-based technology as a viable alternative to the current systemic format promote the engineered obsolescence of the previous dynamic. Through the genesis of such contrivances relative to these innovations, mass storage receptacles/ data repositories in the form of digitized memory signature (Utilized in a contemporary sense, the prospect of physical memory refers to semiconductor storage capability in the form of dynamic random access memory [DRAM or Dynamic-RAM]. Aspects pertinent to the subject of physical storage infer the exclusivity of a digitized media ambry exhibiting autonomy from the central processing unit [CPU]. Commonly known under the following designations: secondary or tertiary information receptacles, external memory, and/ or auxiliary/ peripheral repositories; such devices fall under the following classifications: hard disk drives, optical disk drives, flash drives, and various other components of storage characterized by a significantly less than optimum efficiency relative to the speed of data processing commonly associated with RAM.) cease to maintain a sense of relevancy in futurist collaborations; setting the stage for the implementation of a nationalized version of Internet-based communication. Christened under the Internet2 appellate, this modified version of the current artifice operates under a dynamic circuit network (Recognized as the terminological equivalent of its standard abbreviation, a DCN exists as an advanced version of computer networking technology employing the combination of traditional packet-switched communication based on a system of Internet Protocol [Internet Protocol, a term most oftentimes associated with IP - its standard contextual abbreviation - exists as the principal mechanism for the organization and catalogue of web addresses into a compartmentalized index of domain registries] with circuit-switched relay that are characteristic of traditional telephone network systems) strictly regulated by its progenitors within the scientific community as well as the vast retinue of under politicized appendages of the Federal Government who actively monitor the content of a wide variance of subjective queries.

Cloud-based technology can exist as a privatized, corporate monitored IT (Recognized as the standard abbreviation for Information Technology, the aforementioned terminological coefficient acts as a point of inference relative to the acquisition, processing, storage, and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual, and numerical data. Culminating in the coalescence/ amalgamation of a centralized network predicated on the implementation of a localized system of pattern recognition relative to each of its physical attributes, the evolution of Information Technology into a more expansive diametric can proceed unabated) subject to legislative edict; the existence of this type of computative artifice is contingent on the enactment of provisions in the form of written policy by various intermediary agencies within the Federal Government. Public cloud registries market services to a seemingly innumerable montage of sources encompassing the Internet in its totality (At present, Amazon Web Services exists as the most extensive data network relevant to the genesis of the public cloud dynamic). These technological contrivances are based on precepts governing the gestation of a standard cloud computational prototype; where service providers allocate a varying degree of resources, such as data systems applications and storage capabilities, to prospective consumers via the Internet. Hybrid cloud-based technologies exist as a formative amalgam comprised of a solitary private or exclusive gestalt as well as its public or communal obverse.

Hive Mind

The Hive Mind concept exists as the theoretical integration of the human genetic code within a cybernetic database/ digital control matrix yielding the scientific process of transhumanism.

Silver/ Red Monad

The silver/ red monad: emblematic symbol of a technocratic regime upon its ascendancy to diplomatic supremacy within the predominant sociopolitical infrastructure.

Technocracy

The term technocracy within the English vernacular attains a measure of precedence from the Greek words tekhne, meaning skill, and kratos, meaning power, as in government, or rule. Thus, the correspondent lexiconal derivative, 'technocracy,' denotes a system of government where those possessing the greatest degree of knowledge, expertise, or skills relevant to each of their respective fields assume a mantle of authority within the predominant administrative and legislative paradigm. Adherents to such philosophical ideologies who actively seek to facilitate the implementation of a technologically based system of governance are known as technocrats. Such government legislative entities may possess a considerable number of implementations within preexisting administrative constituencies that are inclusive of the prevailing scientific community, with ultimate objectives seen to coincide with the attainment of technological singularity.
