Portraits in Infamy: Robert H. Scales, Retired U.S. Army Major General, Endorses the Slaughter of Russian Military Contingents in Eastern Ukraine as a Necessary Response to Escalating Tensions Between the United States and the Russian Federation in the Disputed Region

Robert H. “Bob” Scales, born August 6, 1944, a former United States Army Major General and commandant of the U.S. Army War College (USAWC) who now works as a military analyst, news commentator, and author for various organizations, made the aforementioned proclamation on March 10, 2015 during a televised appearance on a Fox News Business Channel syndicated Lou Dobbs Tonight media segment - a statement he now says was made in jest. On March 12, 2015 the Investigative Commission of the Russian Federation conducted a criminal probe, characterizing statements made by the retired Scales as a clarion call to arms involving the U.S. political and Military leadership, as well as American civilian contingents, to “conduct military operations on the Ukrainian territory and to kill Russian citizens, as well as Russian-speaking people." The case was launched under the article of Russia’s Criminal Code that prohibits “public calls to unleash aggressive warfare, made with the use of media outlets.” If arrested and convicted by a Russian court, Scales could theoretically face up to five years in prison. This particular revelation regarding the criminal investigation of the former U.S. Army Major General by an appendage of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Justice was not formally acknowledged by a vast majority of mainstream media outlets in the United States, as the thought of criminal prosecution by a foreign system of legality is seldom taken into consideration by individuals whose allegiance to the political establishment remains unquestioned. There are no consequences for those evincing nihilistic proclivity, this amoral tendency to actively participate in the indiscriminate massacre of generations of people for the sole purpose of fulfilling doctrine related to the premise of technological imperative. Tragically, this type of base sentiment is being echoed throughout the hallowed halls of Washington D.C., by individuals whose absence of scruple reveals the true state of the union in the United States. This incremental disintegration of virtue and integrity in the American system of government pervading virtually every aspect of society, a fact evidenced by ones perusal of the calendar indexed - archived article registry entitled: ‘Societal Collapse’ (a scroll box feature extension found at the following linked destination: 'Breaking News' - content also made available to prospective viewing audiences through the application of key stroke sequences incorporating the use of mouse technology in the canvassed selection of the Breaking News graphic along the sidebar's lower extremities) – the retired U.S. Army Major General a perfect example of the moral antigone (αντιγονη ˡ) threatening to consume the very fabric of a once proud nation.

ˡ αντιγονη - The use of this term symbolic of Greek translation, as the Latin transcription of the word αντι yields 'anti' as its linguistic equivalent, and the use of γονη in Greek vernacular is recognized as the Latin equivalent of ‘gone’ - thus the origin of the term ‘antigone,' that when taken in context, is interpreted to mean against birth or offspring. Therefore the definition applicable to the concept of moral antigone is synonymous with the notion of acting in defiance of creation.
