Obama's Use of 'Jocular Affectation' as a Subtle Display of Contempt for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

During the course of a prescheduled event playing host to a vast majority of the nation’s governors at the National Governors Association (NGA) reception on Tuesday; Barack Obama, the acting President of the United States, made the conscious decision to use a small portion of his allotted time to impart on prospective viewing audiences what many have since come to consider yet another in a long line of crass displays of contempt and disregard for the sanctity of life. The full context of his statement, where he disputed the assertions of those referring to him as a lame-duck politician whose waning influence as an elected official has invariably contributed to his legacy as one of the most corrupt leaders in American history, is detailed below:

“Some of you might be in the final year of your last term, working as hard as you can to get as much done as possible for the folks that you represent: fixing roads, educating our children, helping people retrain, appointing judges.” It was at this moment that the President would take a moment to pause - a short period of time where the aspect of hesitancy could be used to capture the attention of a baying crowd, many of whom were representatives of the DNC (Democratic National Committee), eager to hear the final gist of his remarks - before closing with: “The usual stuff.”


Many were outraged - and justifiably so - at the President’s noted absence of compassion and empathy in the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, however, many of these same people forget this individual’s exploitation of tragedy through the authorized use of weapon laden unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles - specifically the General Atomics-Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) MQ-1B Predator and MQ-9 Reaper Drones - in the Middle East as pretext for mitigating the incidence of civilian casualties in the midst of a series of conflicts he swore would never come to pass - the Whitehouse Correspondents Association event of 2010 providing the setting for this faux pas:
