The Crooked Forest

 

The Crooked Forest (Its Polish linguistic equivalent recognized as Krzywy Las), is a grove of strangely contorted pine trees located just beyond the village of Nowe Czarnowo in West Pomerania, Poland. Numbering approximately 400, this grove of pines is believed to have been planted in 1930, when its principal locality was still inclusive of the German province of Pomerania. It is a generally accepted contention that the odd configuration and shape of the trees resulted from the use of crude/ primitive forestry equipment.
