Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld Visibly Flummoxed During the Course of His Interrogation Concerning the Pentagon’s Inability to Account for $2.3 Trillion of Unspecified Funds, One Day Prior to the Tragic Events Surrounding September 11th of 2001

Acting Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld issues a formal proclamation to various constituencies within the general public concerning the Pentagon’s inability to account for $2.3 trillion in unspecified funds, one day prior to the tragic events surrounding September 11th of 2001. The subsequent day the Twin Towers, as well as Building 7, collapsed amidst what appeared to be an act of terrorism staged by Al-Qaeda affiliates operating from within the periphery of the continental United States. Conveniently, the previous days headlines were effectively overshadowed by the Bush Administration's modern-day ‘crusade against evil,’ a sequence of pre-emptive military operations that later became part of an even broader campaign in the Middle East - what eventually came to be known as the ‘War on Terror.’
